4, 2003 - Hong Kong. Lee Kum Kee was awarded the Hall of Fame trophy
at the Reader's Digest SuperBrands Hall of Fame Awards Presentation
Ceremony yesterday.
Lee Kum Kee continues to win the Reader's Digest Magazine SuperBrands
Survey 2003 for its 5th consecutive year under the Seasoning Category
- achieving the SuperBrand Gold Awards for Hong Kong and Singapore; and
its 2nd consecutive year for Asia. This outstanding achievement has qualified
Lee Kum Kee for the most honorable "Hall of Fame" status.
The Reader's Digest SuperBrands survey in Asia helps to shed light
on the consuming preferences of a representative cross-section of Asian
Society. In 6 key markets, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Philippines
and Thailand, a total of 6,000 questionnaires where respondents were asked
to name their single preferred brand in 40 categories of products and
services. 'Hall of Fame' is specially for those few outstanding
brands that have achieved SuperBrand status within their market in all
five years.
Respondents were asked to name (unprompted) their most preferred brand
for each category. Voted brands were rated both quantitatively and qualitatively
for five key attributes: Quality, Value, Trustworthiness, Strong Image
and Understanding of Customer Needs. A brand has to be the top 5 brands
across at least 3 markets in order to achieve further, the SuperBrand
Award for Asia.
