"Yokohama
Dragon Boat Race", which is held once a year as the most notable dragon
boat contest in Japan, has been completed successfully on 18, 31 May and
1 June. The race, organized by Yokohama Dragon Boat Race Organizing Committee,
was supported by Yokohama Municipal Government and sponsored by Yokohama
China-town Organization, as well as Lee Kum Kee. Playing the role of "Promoting
Chinese traditional culture to people all over the world", Lee Kum
Kee did not merely co-sponsor this dragon boat race for the third time,
but also held a rice dumpling tasting counter at Yamashita Park, the venue
of the race, to introduce both Chinese traditional festival and festival
dish at the same time. On the other hand, distributors of Lee Kum Kee products
in Japan formed a team to take part in the race. Despite the lack of experience
and bad weather, they made strenuous efforts to the fullest and scored a
satisfactory result.
